About the Event

This FREE special session will take place in Room 301 at Shoreline City Hall.

The amazing team at Urban Land Institute Washington will facilitate UrbanPlan, a hands-on and interactive workshop where attendees work in teams to respond to a fictional RFP for redeveloping a six-block urban site. Participants must balance financial goals (including developer return, city revenue, and affordable housing metrics) with stakeholder input and community needs.

Using Legos, teams create a site plan and defend their decisions in a mock city council presentation where they will be asked to apply real-world planning and design principles. The session fosters critical thinking, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in urban development.

Complimentary sandwiches, Caesar salad, water, and soda will be provided thanks to the generous donation from Success-Minded Leader. Space is limited, so register early.
